Rupesh C. Shah graduated in 1973 with Chemistry as a principal subject and stood first in Gujarat University. He was honoured with two Gold Medals and Dr.Nargund Prize. After graduation, he went to U.S.A. for further studies in Ceramics & completed B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from Missouri State University, U.S.A. & since then he is actively engaged in the field of Ceramic manufacturing under the name of ‘Sonya Group of Industries’. Where he makes LT Insulators, Technical Ceramics and Peanut
butter.
After completing 65 years, he decided to complete his unfulfilled dreams. One of them was painting.This has naturally come in the family. As his Grandfather Mr. Chandulal C. Shah was a great Artist and strong follower of Gandhian Philosphy. His paintings are displayed in Gandhi Ashram, wherein few of them were painted by himself and few of them were financed by him and painted by Hiralal Khatri.He started with watercolor and has taken guidance of Shri Natubhai Parikh and Shri Bhavesh Zala. Lately he is working with acrylic colours and modern art under the guidance of Shri Manhar Kapadia.
