AKRAND
An expression of grief, loss and remembrance
This painting was inspired by the tragic incident in Nepal that deeply affected our family and close friends. Our dear friend Mahendra Bhai lost his wife, Amitaben, who was also a very close friend of my sister, Sonya Kuldip.
Her sudden loss deeply jolted all of us. The emotions of grief, pain and helplessness found their way onto the canvas, giving birth to “AKRAND” – a painting that expresses the sorrow of losing someone deeply loved.
I dedicate this painting to the loving memory of Amitaben, as a humble tribute to her life and the bond she shared with those around her.
